Visitors expect fast-loading and easily-navigable pages that are bursting with rich, relevant content. With these qualities, visitors will explore your website (including your products or services).

Meet Jessica and Andrew in the 13th episode of the Article Content vs. Real Life series. As a new team member, Jessica excels in her expertise, but she's still getting to know the ins and outs of the company layout (e.g. where office supplies are located).

In this episode, discover how Jessica's search for a stapler is similar to a visitor clicking-through to a blog or website in 5 discouraging (and even scary) scenarios.

Article Content vs. Real Life - Episode 13 Recap

Box 1 - Parked Page

Finding an empty box is like sending your readers to a parked page or a page without content. Ensure your links are active and there's always quality content available for your readers.

Box 2 - Broken Links

Whether it's a broken stapler or a broken link, both lead to user frustration. Test your links to make sure they work in order to drive traffic to your website.

Box 3 - Irrelevant Links

Always link to websites that provide rich, relevant content, not to a box filled with unrelated junk. Make sure your links relate to your article to provide a quality user experience.

Box 4 - Lacks Quality

Appearances are everything. Readers won't want to visit a website that's full of ads, has poor navigation, and lacks quality content. Always provide value that benefits your readers.

Box 5 - Malware

Don't put your readers (or their technology) in danger. Ensure your links don't lead to malicious software or Malware that could be potentially harmful.

Box 6 - QUALITY!

Meeting your audience's expectations by providing a quality website will encourage readers to stick around and discover more about you, your credibility, and your products or services. Increase your credibility and authority in your niche by providing highly relevant, rich content!

*** Natural Health Tip of the Week ***
-------------------------------------------------------------

Many people, especially in today's office lifestyle, spend their time staring at a computer screen of some sort. The emissions from such devices can be harmful in high doses so it's usually a good idea to rest your eyes throughout your work day. Every hour, try and get up from in front of the screen and move around. This will help give your dry or itchy eyes a break from the radiation that spills out from computer, phone and television screens.

-------------------------------------------------------------
*** Article of the Week: Sneezing and Wheezing More than Usual This Spring? Natural Ways to Control Allergies - By Susanne Warren ***
-------------------------------------------------------------

News reports from this year and last tell us that increasing numbers of us are experiencing seasonal allergies. If you're suffering and find that your prescription or over-the-counter medications seem ineffective, why not consider trying a natural remedy? Don't stop taking your medications, although you'll most likely want to let your doctor know what you're doing. After a time, you may find that not only your symptoms, but your need for medications, are greatly reduced.

Here are a number of natural methods to help you gain control over your allergies:

1. Reduce dairy consumption
One of the most effective ways to ease environmental allergy symptoms is to completely remove dairy from your diet. Dairy is a mucus-producing food and is considered quite inflammatory. Try completely eliminating cow's milk products from your diet for two months and see if it makes a difference.

2. Other food allergies
Many health practitioners agree that seasonal allergies may be related to food allergies or sensitivities. If you've tried removing dairy products from your diet and found no relief, you may want to try an elimination diet. This will involve eliminating from your diet for a period of time the foods that most commonly create an immune reaction. In addition to milk, these include eggs, nuts, fish, shellfish, soy and wheat. A nutrition professional can help guide you through an elimination diet.

3. Honey
Many allergy sufferers swear by eating honey that has been produced in an area local to them to help control hay fever.

4. Omega-3 fatty acids
These help control inflammation and are available in a small number of foods, including cold-water fish such as wild salmon and tuna, walnuts, and flax seeds and flax seed oil. To be sure you're getting enough of this important nutrient, eat two servings of wild salmon each week, or supplement with cod liver oil or fish oil capsules.

5. Limit your exposure
If you are a chronic allergy sufferer, avoid exercising outdoors, especially in the early morning, when pollen counts are highest. Avoid the outdoors particularly on windy days if your allergies are severe. Keep home and car windows closed, and wear a mask while performing yard work. You can take this a step further by limiting your exposure to toxins that may cause sensitivity, such as perfumes, household cleaning and laundry products, and scented candles and room deodorizers.

6. Neti pots
Neti pots have been used in India for thousands of years to keep the sinuses clear and seem to be gaining popularity here in the U.S. They are shaped similar to Aladdin's lamp, inexpensive, and available and health food stores and many drugstores. Instructions will be included in the box, but basically, you'll fill the neti pot using a mixture of non-iodized salt and lukewarm water and, leaning your head over the sink, pour half the saltwater mixture into one nostril, let it drain, and repeat on the other side with the remaining mixture. Use your neti pot twice a day during allergy season, especially after you've been outdoors.

Supplements

7. Stinging nettle leaf
An herb called stinging nettle leaf reduces the amount of histamine the body produces, reducing sneezing and itching due to hay fever. Stinging nettle leaf extract in freeze-dried capsule form can be taken in a dose of 300 milligrams daily.

8. Quercetin
Quercetin is a bioflavonoid, a phytochemical found in plant foods such as apples, onions, berries, grapes, teas, and red wine that supports the immune system and acts as a natural antihistamine. A normal healthy diet will provide about 25-50 milligrams of quercetin; if you choose to supplement this, be sure to follow the dosage instructions on the bottle.

9. Vitamin C
During allergy season, increase your daily intake of vitamin C, which enhances the immune system. Most people can safely take up to 2,000 milligrams per day for short periods of time.
Other remedies that will help in the short term:

10. Essential oils
To ease congestion, add a few drops of an essential oil such as eucalyptus, peppermint, sage, lavender, or tea tree oil to two cups of boiling water and inhale the steam.

11. Water and salt
If you find yourself in the middle of a severe allergy attack, try this home remedy: drink an 8-ounce glass of water followed by a pinch of salt on the tongue every 15 to 30 minutes until your symptoms subside.

We're exposed to so many different substances each day that can over-stimulate our immune systems. You may never completely eradicate your allergies but, as you can see, there are many things you can try to reduce your symptoms and ease your suffering. Which will you try first?

[EzineArticles] 10 Outstanding Qualities of Great Landing Pages

10 Outstanding Qualities of Great Landing Pages EzineArticles.com Logo

Want to Gain Your Reader's Trust and Increase Your Credibility?

Let's say you're piloting a small airplane to a vacation hotspot. Your passengers expect you to land the plane safely and without incident.

In your articles, readers have the same expectations when they click on your links.

Meet their expectations to gain their trust, increase your conversion rate, and build your credibility by ensuring their landing and stay on your website or blog is outstanding.

10 Traits of Quality Landing Pages (and Websites Too!)

  1. Relevance: The most stellar quality is the relevance a landing page has to the article or page from which the user arrived. This is also critical when search engines are taken into consideration. Like you, search engines must ensure a good user experience by providing search results relevant to the user's search query. Hence, your content is indexed by relevance and potentially booted when irrelevant.

  2. Navigation: Ease of use and intuitive navigation are paramount. Skip frustrating methods like exit pop-ups or other methods that either prevent or delay the user from leaving your website. Let fresh content be your main attraction to keep visitors on site and encourage their return.

  3. Transparency: Create an "About Us" page. Illustrate the who, what, where, when, and why of your business or service and include pictures of the key members of your business. Be transparent and include background information on your company to build trust.

  4. FAQ: Develop a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page to anticipate questions about any products, services, etc. you provide. This will help leverage your credibility and you will become a point of reference for your audience.

  5. Blog: Establish a blog to increase your exposure, as well as give your visitors insight into the personality of you or your business. Putting a face and tone to your name is a great way to establish a relationship with your visitors.

  6. Opt-In: Give visitors a reason to return and stay in touch with you and your business or service with a stationary opt-in to build a list of subscribers for newsletters or alerts to new posts, ebooks, specials, etc.

  7. Shop: If you have products for sale on your site:

    • Safety: Ensure a safe payment method. Anytime credit card information is requested, consumers are naturally suspicious. Try trusted brands, such as PayPal.
    • Security: Obtain rights to include security seals from reputable online consumer protection programs such as the Better Business Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, and/or SSL certificate providers to ensure further protection.
    • Service: Include a customer service contact form or contact link to ensure visitors can ask questions or provide comments/concerns.
    • Quality: Include high-quality images of your products; take it a step further with close-ups and size comparisons if appropriate.
    • Transparent: Clearly document your Return and Refund Policy.

  8. Feedback: Provide a page where visitors can post feedback and reviews. Reviews and feedback will ultimately further your credibility and increase audience participation.

  9. Content: Related to 1 and 5, providing unique and relevant content is key to building a loyal audience (and loyal customers), as well as improving your ranking with search engines. Be consistent and informative by providing fresh content on a regular basis.

  10. Overall: Consider the overall aesthetics. Compare your website to websites you've visited - both credible and dubious. Does your site look credible? Does it work properly? If not, establish an overall well-designed, user-friendly, and trustworthy website. Trust is everything!

Visitors expect an easily navigable, rich, relevant, quality link. Help make their landing safe by using these 10 outstanding qualities to great landing pages and websites.

For anyone who feels strongly about an issue or is an expert on any topic, EzineArticles.com provides a wonderful way to get your knowledge to many people... As of today, I have written and published 234 articles. Those articles have been read over 19,400 times at EzineArticles. Bloggers and editors from other companies can request to publish these articles elsewhere. I have 284 of those publishers... What is surprising to me about that 19,400 number is that I write about MATHEMATICS! This is not a high demand category! Give this lots of thought. If this math person can write articles, YOU can write articles! Share your knowledge.

[EzineArticles] Make Writing Easy with Prewriting

Make Writing Easy with Prewriting EzineArticles.com Logo

Be Prepared to Pack Value in Your Articles

Successful articles are a combination of your expertise and creativity. Many Expert Authors attempt to save time by skipping creativity altogether. The effect can be likened to packing for a trip to Antarctica at the last minute. Without the necessary equipment and supplies to withstand the South Pole's temperatures, you may just end up blindly packing anything and missing critical items.

Creating checklists (e.g. what to pack to stay warm) or brainstorming potential scenarios you may encounter (e.g. penguin photography) will help ensure not only your survival, but a good experience too!

Checklists, outlines, brainstorming, etc. all connect to an often overlooked practice known as prewriting.

Prewriting occurs before writing, proofreading, and editing. When done effectively, prewriting makes writing so easy - all you have to do is add a little polish here and a transition there and voila! Your article is ready for submission.

Here's a great prewriting exercise to build your article writing momentum and infuse your creativity into your next set of quality original articles.

1. TARGET

Always consider your audience. Write down the answers to the following questions and post it near your writing space where you can easily refer to it:

  • Who's your target audience?
  • What are the demographics of your audience?
  • What do they do?
  • What are their needs and their wants?
  • What do they already know about your niche?
  • What about your niche is their perception skewed in?
  • What characteristics or goals do you have in common with your audience?

Tip: Identifying your target will go a long way in ensuring you meet your audience's needs and write for their benefit, which means more traffic to your blog or website.

2. FOCUS

What's your next idea? Narrow the topic you would like to tackle next. If it's a fairly broad topic, attempt to break it into a series of topics and save those for later. A good measure to determine if your topic is too broad is whether you can describe it in one or two words. For instance, a topic such as "quitting smoking" is way too broad. However, "determining age as factor in selecting a smoking cessation method" is much more focused.

Tip: Narrow broad topics or brainstorm ideas by considering the angle with which you approach the topic (click here for 10 angles), as well as with keyword research.

3. GATHERING and RESEARCH

Begin jotting down what you already know about your focused topic and then research any fuzzy areas. Use relevance to your article topic as your guide to ensure you don't include superfluous information.

Tip: During the gathering phase, consider posing simple who, what, where, when, why, and how questions against your focused topic to help unlock information.

4. OUTLINE

Create an outline including all of the core details or logic of your article topic. From your outline you can easily add transitions and polish, and voila - an article!

Tip: Outlines are amazingly simple using article templates (try our article templates by clicking here).

Rather than stuffing your article at the last minute, get organized and create an environment that increases your productivity. Try this prewriting exercise today!

Thanks so much for the great publicity. I was amazed at how many articles I already had written when I started digging out all my old notes and speeches. It just took a little reformatting, bringing up to date and filling in here and there to have them ready to send off to you. Even though we are swamped with projects, the positive effects of passive income and name recognition is well worth the effort. Keep up the good work.

Bruce Kaler M.D. "EzineArticles is a wonderful reservoir of good content on many topics."

The marketing principle of giving away of something of value for free in order to sell something else, resonated with me. It is also a way to establish your voice and brand in a more structured professional manner than typical social media i.e. Facebook, Twitter, et al. They have their place and are useful to an author/writer. However, the growth of the internet creates a huge demand for quality content. I still think the key is to write "quality content". If it is well written, accessible, and of timely interest to people it will get plenty of attention. EzineArticles is a wonderful reservoir of good content on many topics.

[EzineArticles] Top Misused Words Part IV

Top Misused Words Part IV EzineArticles.com Logo

Freight Night - All of Your Fears Shipped First Class!

Welcome back for another round of the top misused words in the English language, but first - let's talk proofreading.

It's not the most glamorous part of article writing, but having a thoroughly proofread (and appropriately edited) article can make you look glamorous - or at least maintain your credibility. Keep your readers positively focused on you, instead of negatively focused on errors, by proofreading your articles...

...and don't forget these 5 most misused words in the English language:

Incorrect: Horror movies give me a freight!

We will have another grammar and spelling tips series coming up in the next few weeks, so stop by the Blog for the latest and greatest tips to error free articles. The 5 Dos and Don'ts of Commitment
Learn how to create that feeling of "you're the only woman I want" with these five relationship guidelines.

While an initial spark is all it takes for a man to ask you out and crave you sexually, there needs to be something more for him to want to commit to you exclusively. He needs to feel that he can't wait to make you his and that he can't stand the thought of you being with anyone else.

Rather than having "the talk" or giving him ultimatums, wouldn't it be great if you could create that feeling so that he is the one asking you for a commitment? You can if you practice these simple steps:

1. DON'T keep bringing up the "commitment" discussion

When you feel anxious or worried about where your relationship is headed, it's hard to resist wanting to know what he's thinking.

But constantly trying to talk with him about commitment feels stressful to him and will only make him dig in his heels and retreat - even if he was on the verge of committing all on his own. So, no matter how much you're dying to know what he's thinking, resist the temptation to bring up this tender topic.

2. DON'T try convincing him

The more you try to make a case for how great you are as a couple, the more he feels cornered and manipulated. Your reasoning feels like criticism to him and makes him unable to share his true feelings. That's certainly not the vibe you want to create in a loving relationship.

A man falls in love when he feels like he can make you happy by being himself and sharing the deepest parts of who he is. By rejecting those parts, you make him feel wrong and cause him to protect his true feelings - and his heart - from connecting with yours.

3. DO share your good feelings

When you feel good with a man, let him know! By opening up and sharing your feelings, you allow him to connect to you and the positive experience you are sharing. It makes him feel good that he makes you feel good, and he'll want more of that good stuff.

As you continue to lay a stronger foundation of positive feelings, it's only natural that he will see you as a necessary and beautiful part of his life - and he'll want to make sure you stay in it.

4. DO say what you want - with or without him

Instead of trying to convince him to commit, share your dreams and what you want for your future. For example: "I don't want to put pressure on the relationship. I don't want to try to convince you, or rush you. It feels good to be with you, but I know I want to have a family someday. What do you think?"

When he sees that you are first and foremost committed to yourself and your dreams, he will feel fired up about you. He will appreciate you as having high value and therefore be triggered to want you all to himself.

5. DO keep your options open

Dating is a time for you to find out what you really want in a relationship. You can't do this if you close yourself off to other men before you have the commitment you desire. By meeting lots of people, you open yourself up to discovering a truly great match. You also avoid making any one man the center of your world. Remember, your first commitment is always to you!

The key to making a man want you all to himself is to be the woman who loves him but doesn't need him. When he senses that he's very lucky to have you, he'll be motivated to seal the deal before another guy gets in there first.

Commitment is a different emotional process for men than it is for women. To learn how men decide whether or not a woman is "the one", subscribe to Rori's free e-newsletter. Hi, I'm Rori, and I'm here to help you get the love life you deserve. I'm a trained relationship coach, but my biggest credential is that I've been blissfully married for 20 years.

But it wasn't always that way. I used to use all the wrong words and actions to attract and keep a man in my life. In fact, I almost lost my husband completely until I learned the secrets and tools I want to share with you.

My relationship changed - practically overnight- and I want you to have the same love and happiness I do. If I can do it, and my clients can do it, YOU can do it!
